What is intelligent document processing?
Intelligent document processing (IDP) combines optical character recognition with AI models that understand layout and meaning. Older OCR copies text off the page. IDP knows which number is the invoice total, which date is the due date and which clause is the notice period, even when every supplier's layout is different, and it gives a confidence score for each field.

What is the difference between OCR and AI document processing?
OCR turns an image into text. AI document processing also understands what the text means, so it can find the invoice total or the renewal date on any layout and check it against your rules.
How accurate is AI invoice processing?
On clean, typed invoices, accuracy is usually high for key fields such as supplier, date and total. We measure accuracy on your own documents before launch, and anything below the confidence threshold goes to a person.
Can it read handwriting and scanned documents?
Yes, within limits. Clear handwriting and decent scans work well. Very poor scans are flagged for review rather than guessed.
Does it work with Xero, QuickBooks or our ERP?
Yes. We post the extracted data into your accounting system or ERP through its API, or export it in the format you need.
